Rochelle is a photographic artist currently living and working in Naarm/Melbourne.
Her practice moves fluidly between documentary and art photography, exploring themes of identity, memory, youthhood, and human connection. She is fundamentally drawn to the flux of the human condition and our innate relationship with the natural world.
Rochelle’s intuitive approach reflects the unpredictability of daily life, interwoven with moments of memory, reverie, and the fleeting intensity of youth. Her seamless movement between black and white and colour photography embraces the distinct qualities of Australian light, evoking a quiet sense of nostalgia and emotional resonance.
“The human experience is complex and beautiful, and what gets me about life is that we never know what’s going to happen next. The unexpected moves us and reshapes us. It inspires moments of vigilance and those of reckless abandon. Whatever the impact the experience is visceral, unfathomed, and unperformed.”
Rochelle has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Victorian Collage of the Arts, Melbourne University.
